Overview

Via common thread of the psychology of the common man,

it's often-ignored, darkest corners,

I have attempted to convey an appreciation,

a refection, an examination and advocacy of the Everyman,

who often, and for whatever reason,

may find himself isolated, marginalized.

Works in oil, acrylics, glass, wood, and metal, rich in texture and tone,

displayed in local galleries, solo and group exhibitions,

seek to lend voice to said populations.

Early work

Earlier works speak with a tone critical of socio-economic ills,

plaguing those both in the United States and abroad,

with particular focus on Latin America.

Poverty and oppression,

in all its incarnations,

thrust into the spotlight and examined through a variety of mediums:

Oil, acrylic, glass, metal, canvas and wood,

a conglomeration best fitting a rough, uneasy subject matter.

Current Work

A once more abstract work has evolved into a higher appreciation of the candid,

solitary moment in time.

Currently work celebrates the marriage of still photography and the painted canvas.

An appreciation of the shape of the human body,

its sometimes dark, brooding tones,

and the personality of its owner,

comprise the majority of current subject matter.

Images painted on canvas, in oil and acrylics, by way of still photo, offer a glimpse into the complex emotion of its subject.

Influences

Early influences were drawn predominantly from contemporary, urban art.

Graffiti, works covering concrete landscapes, abandoned buildings, functioning and non, subway cars, as well as the rocky cliffs, scattered along the Hudson River.

Later work remains influenced by artists sucha as Irish Figurativist, Francis Bacon,

German Expressionist , George Grosz,

and  Mexican Muralists, David Alfaro Siqueiros and Jose' Clemente Orozco.
